RICHARDSON BAY YACHT CLUB
The Richardson Bay Yacht Club was founded on August 31, 1978. The club’s founders were a group of very active power boaters in the San Francisco Bay who wanted to establish a club with a sharp focus on numerous boating and social activities. Most of the founders lived in Shelter Bay, off Richardson Bay.
RBYC is a fully accredited California-registered yacht club. Over the years it has been a steadfast tradition that the club provide its members with quality monthly social events, including sailboat and powerboat races and social visits to neighboring yacht clubs. The club has reciprocal agreements and understandings with most other yacht clubs in the Bay Area and also with most other clubs around the world.
RBYC has an annually elected Board of Directors, including four Flag Officers, that serve for a period of 12 months. An important aim of the Board is to keep RBYC membership and initiation fees at very reasonable levels.
RBYC History
Our Burgee:
RBYC has the oldest burgee in California. In 1978, when the RBYC was formed, the old California Yacht Club had just ended it’s illustrious career. Their burgee was available, and it is now proudly flown by Richardson Bay Yacht Club members.
