Every year RBYC members volunteer to help out at the annual Wheel Chair Regatta, sponsored by the Pacific Inter-Coastal Yachting Association (PICYA) of which RBYC is a long standing member.  The Regatta brings together volunteers and boats from various PICYA Clubs.  It provides individuals confined to wheelchairs the rare opportunity to experience a power boat ride on the Oakland Estuary, the San Francisco Bay or the San Francisco Bayfront.  A picnic usually follows the ride. Most guests are U.S. vets, residing in Northern California in Veteran Homes or Hospitals.
